FAQs

When you host an ice cream social at Jeni’s, we view it as a partnership between our scoop shop and your organization. You’ll be responsible for spreading the word about your event (we’ll provide you with a marketing guide to help!) and bringing people from your community into the shop. In return, we’ll donate 25% of all that shop’s in-store sales (including scoops, pints, and merchandise) during the time of the event back to your organization. This includes sales from guests outside your community (meaning guests don’t need to present a flyer or mention your organization at the register). We do this so that every purchase during your event directly supports your cause.

We partner with a wide variety of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose work aligns with our mission to bring people together and make people feel loved (examples include schools, universities, libraries, food banks, and other community-based organizations).

We’re unable to host fundraisers for religious organizations, political groups, marches or protests, individual causes, for-profit organizations, or any organization that discriminates based on race, age, gender, sexuality, religious creed, veteran status, marital status, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, or genetic information.

Ice cream socials can be scheduled during shop hours Monday through Thursday before 7 p.m., for a maximum of three hours. Please note, dates not listed in the calendar are either already booked by another organization or unavailable due to a holiday.

Please submit your application at least four weeks prior to your preferred fundraiser date. This will allow our team to review your application and prepare for the event, and give you enough time to spread the word to your community.

A member of our team will let you know your application has been received within 48 hours. If you haven’t heard back about your fundraiser application within 48 hours, or if you have a specific question we can help answer, please contact fundraising@jenis.com.

We’ll provide a marketing guide with tips on promoting your ice cream social so you can bring out as many people as possible to support your organization! This guide includes a suggested promotion timeline as well as sample images and copy templates for emails, social media posts, and more. Jeni’s does not provide individual marketing support for each fundraiser, so be creative on how to spread the word about your event!

Yes! Decorations must be non-offensive and easy to remove, and may not be adhered to the walls, furniture, or ceilings of our scoop shop. Decorations must also be limited to the public area of the shop, and shouldn’t interfere with the experience of other guests or with our team members scooping ice cream. Examples of great decorations and activities for your ice cream social include raffles, giveaways, table decorations, and helium balloons tied together with weights.

We ask that you please confirm your decorations and/or activities with your fundraising lead prior to the event to ensure we can accommodate your set-up. If your decorations are approved, you can begin setting them up 30 minutes prior to your event. Any decorations or other items must be taken down and brought with you at the close of the event.

Yes! You’ll have the option to work with our team to create a Featured Signature pairing. This is a custom ice cream pairing of up to three flavors served in a Buttercrisp Waffle Bowl, with a special name of your choosing. We’ll feature this pairing as a menu item for guests to order during your fundraiser to help drive awareness of your organization!

You’ll receive an email within 7 business days after your fundraiser to confirm the total funds raised during your event. We’ll then mail a donation check to the address you provide in your fundraiser application. You can expect this check to arrive within 4 weeks of your fundraiser date.

We’re unable to donate to silent auctions or raffles. Hosting ice cream socials is our main fundraising and donation vehicle, but we understand this may not work for every organization. To be considered for an alternative donation request, please submit an application at jenis.com/giving. Please note: we require a 6-week lead time for all in kind donation requests.
